Activity:

Search FYP Supervisor & FYP title selection

 

Objective:

  • To find a FYP Supervisor to provide guidance on how to plan and assist in FYP preparation especially in proposal and final report. 
  • To produce a suitable title for FYP before submitting it to the FYP supervisor

     

Content:

  • Students are given a period of 5 weeks to find a supervisor before registering the project title in the FYP UniKL BMI website
  • FYP coordinators say students should prepare appropriate projects and topics before finding the desired supervisor and need to discuss with the supervisor.
  • The supervisor should be selected based on the student course. for example, if the student course is BETEE, the student should find a lecturer in electrical department.

 

Result:

  • After doing research and following the advice of friends and seniors, I chose Sir Mohd Shaiful B. Othman in electrical department as the FYP supervisor.
  • Sir Mohd Shaiful is my lecturer on subject PLC (diploma) and AutoCAD (Degree semester 4
  • Sir Shaiful agreed to be my FYP supervisor as well as give suggestions related to my project.

Conclusion:

By choosing him as my supervisor, it is easy for me to see or contact him and discuss with him about my FYP progress. As you all can see in the picture above Sir Shaiful major in Electrical Engineering subject which is the one lecturer of Section of the Electrical Engineering Technology.

Activity: Learn in more detail about the Arduino coding, Arduino IDE and Blynk Objective: To put transfer the coding system into Arduino board (ESP866) To connect the Arduino IDE to Blynk application To control the system using smartphone. Content:  To generate code on Arduino Board, I use Arduino IDE software. First, I need to add some library and board that I needed into software Arduino IDE which is Blynk ESP8266, simpleTimer and Adafruit.   For Blynk program, I fill in the required information such as SSID (Wi-Fi name), pass (Wi-Fi password) and auth token to connect with Blynk application. Week 15 (FYP 2)

Activity: Recording project demonstration. Objective: To produce a good and clear demonstration video. To produce a project demonstration video that can be understood by the evaluator. Content: Choose a suitable and quiet place to record a demonstration video. Make drafts and plans to record video. Choose the suitable angle for place of camera. Run the project and start recording. Result: The suitable place is chosen which in store room at groundfloor. The demonstration video was recorded with several different angles as there were several important parts running at one time such as the temperature sensor and the IR sensor. I need to add background voice of explanation because during recording, I cant make explanation because the sound of compressor is too loud. Conclusion: As a conclusion, successfully created video demonstration for online presentation which will attract the attention.

Week 11 (FYP 1)

Activity: Design a Presentation Slide and Discussion with Supervisor Objective: to make a good presentation slide to prepare for the presentation in the 12th week to seek views and advice from supervisors Content: Make a presentation slide based on the FYP criteria set by the coordinator. The slide contains Introduction, Problem Statement, Literature Review, Methodology and Result. The section to be concerned about is a summary of the Literature Review After completing the slide, I met and discussed with Sir Shaiful to review the slide and give advice on the presentation later Result: After Sir Shaiful reviewed the slide, it gave an overview of the Flowchart section and Estimated costs on the project. Sir Shaiful also gave some advice during the presentation later. Conclusion: After being satisfied with the slide, I can proceed to the next task which is to record the presentation video to be played on the presentation day next week.
